Some inspirational links

Here are a couple links I'm finding useful for my Flying Swordsmen RPG.

Monstropedia's Chinese Monsters section

A quick rundown of some of the major Chinese deities

Some stories on About.com

A great essay on what exactly wuxia is

Kongming.net, a place for all things Three Kingdoms

  1. Niiiiiiiiice links. Especially the Three Kingdoms one. Diggin' that one.

Quick question--you ever hear of a roleplaying game called SENGOKU? It's basically set in Sengoku Jidai Japan (duh) and can be adapted for realistic style, chanbara action style, or anime style. The book is an incredible sourcebook.

Also, you call pull ideas from Palladium's MYSTIC CHINA book. I think there might actually be a MYSTIC CHINA 2 book out.

  2. Yeah, I've heard of Sengoku, but I've never had a chance to play it, or even peruse the rulebook. Sounds like an awesome game, though.

And I did consider the Mystic China book, but considering their policy against translating their stuff to other game systems (they frown heavily and call their lawyers, apparently) I might skip it for now...
