I was able to pick up a few of my favorites, and grabbed this one too because of the cover.

I was shocked to read it was the first adventure of Jamie, Fox and Owl... and man was it in full on D&D mode. It became a new favorite. I'm actually annoyed that I didn't get to read it as a kid back in the day. Roman J. Very creepy to see your companion turned into your enemy that way.

Which reminds me of another cool thing I forgot to mention in my review--the skeletons, when they kill you, transform you into a skeleton. That's a touch I'm going to have to add to a D&D adventure sometime in the future.

KM--I'm surprised I never loaned this to you back in the day. But Revenge of the Rainbow Dragons is the sequel to Pillars of Pentegarn.Dennis Laffeyhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/03053699552003336733noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5255299705122830812.post-76441799309913629232010-09-30T12:54:07.140+09:002010-09-30T12:54:07.140+09:00Hmm. I haven't read it in a long time, but I'm pretty sure that in "Revenge of the Rainbow Dragons" you also play as a kid named Jaimie and have the animal companions Fox and Owl. Never knew that they tried to carry over some of the characters to other books. Unless of course I read this one at some point and have it mixed up. Pretty sure I never read Pillars of Pentegarn though.KillingMachinehttps://www.blogger.com/profile/08327959597578488479noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5255299705122830812.post-18290076538479293842010-09-30T12:27:19.094+09:002010-09-30T12:27:19.094+09:00Excellent Review!

Quinn's interiors haunt me to this day -- the skeletal Lydia, with her flowing hair -- was a frightening image for an eight year old.

Definitely looking forward to reading more! Thanks for sharing your thoughts on this book! The Secret DMhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/15584518397585137036noreply@blogger.com
